Projects - for Children & Communites
Get an overview of our ongoing initiatives and projects – and learn more about our approach to voluntary work in Madagascar. We spend significant time in the villages, working closely with local communities to create sustainable projects.Their knowledge and insight are crucial for identifying real needs, assessing where our efforts can make the biggest difference, and setting the right priorities for each project. We believe that lasting change is created through local engagement, participation, and co-ownership. Therefore, we involve the communities both in the practical work and in the overall direction and development of the projects. It is a genuine collaborative process – centered on mutual respect and shared responsibility.
In many remote villages across Madagascar, including Sahasifototra, access to a reliable electricity grid is impossible. When the sun sets early on the island, darkness quickly envelops the community, creating significant challenges, particularly for the school.
This initiative is designed to do more than just feed the children; it’s about fueling their potential and creating a ripple effect of positive change for the entire community.
We Invest in Madagascar's Future; It's Children
The idea of creating the non-profit organisation NORA-Madagascar originally arose from a visit to a school where the kitchen hut had collapsed and there were no funds to provide school meals. That is why school kitchens and school meals are one of our central and first projects!
